It protrudes between the Tsugaru Strait and Hakodate Bay, creating a unique landscape. The view from the mountain is beautiful during the day, but the nighttime view, with the city’s lights shining brightly, is particularly popular.
You can reach the summit in about 3 minutes by a ropeway that operates every 15 minutes, or you can also drive up.
Oirase Gorge [Aomori Prefecture]
A scenic masterpiece of flowing water, waterfalls, and moss
Oirase Gorge stretches for about 14 kilometers along the Oirase River, which flows out from Lake Towada. The rich flow of water, numerous waterfalls, and moss-covered forests create a picturesque landscape.
The gorge is especially popular in the early summer with fresh greenery and in the autumn with vibrant fall foliage. The winter snow scenery is also worth seeing. You can reach the summit by a lift in about 6 minutes, and from there, you can see Izu Oshima in the distance.
Irabu Bridge [Okinawa Prefecture]

Irabu Bridge connects Miyako Island and Irabu Island, spanning a total length of 3,540 meters. It is the longest toll-free bridge in Japan. The shallow waters around the bridge shine beautifully in turquoise blue and emerald green, especially on sunny days.
Nearby attractions include Yuni Beach, a shallow beach that appears during low tide. While stopping on the bridge is prohibited, you can still enjoy the stunning views while driving, cycling, or walking across. It’s also a popular spot for cyclists.
